Roofing Batons
Roofing Battens are the lengths of wood that are laid in-between the rafters to secure the roofing felt and to accept the tiles or slates when they are fitted. Here at Planet Timber we do them in 25x50mm , 25x38mm and 19x38mm sizes.
Roofing Membranes
These are a vapour barrier to keep water out that can be used under Roofing Tiles. “Rooftec Breathable Membranes” are sold in 1.5m – 50m rolls.
Roofing Joists (C24)
Roofing joists are structural wooden beams, which add structural support to roofs. They are widely used in roof construction, to ensure the roof can hold the weight of added roofing materials (such as tiles or metal sheets).
C24 roofing joists in particular are a fantastic choice for adding structural integrity. This is because C24 is the highest grade of roofing joists. As a result – thanks to the specialist C24 pressure treatment that these joists are subjected to – they will add the maximum levels of strength and durability to your new roof.
Roofing Felt
Roofing felt is a type of roofing underlayment, a thin water-shedding barrier that’s added between your roof shingles and the decking. We sell prdominately Shed Felt in 10m rolls in either Green or Black mineral.
Chipboard
Chipboard is a moisture-resistant board, renowned for its strength, light weight, durability and affordability. It is made by combining sawdust, wood shavings or chips with synthetic resin. The mixture is then compressed, to create a smooth board.
Chipboard is widely used for roofing projects, to create flooring in roofs or attic spaces. This is because chipboard is a great cost-effective way to create strong, durable and insulative roof flooring.
Loft Boards
Loft boards are also used to create flooring in roofs and attics. However, they differ in that they are a smaller size of wooden chipboard.
Loft Boards are designed to be positioned on top of the roofing joists, to quickly and easily create a floor area. Plus, in addition to being light, affordable and easy to install, Loft Boards are also strong, durable and great natural insulators.
